Season 2 / Year 2023

Episodes

England v Scotland
England v Scotland (Kick-off 4.45pm). Mark Pougatch presents all the action from the Calcutta Cup clash in the opening round of fixtures, held at Twickenham. Scotland have won the last two meetings between the sides in this competition, prevailing 20-17 at Murrayfield last year and claiming their first away win over England since 1983 when they won 11-6 here in 2020. However, today's hosts have since replaced Eddie Jones with Steve Borthwick as head coach and will expect an improved display this time around. With analysis from Clive Woodward, Jonny Wilkinson and Ian McGeechan, commentary by Nick Mullins, Scott Hastings and Lawrence Dallaglio, and pitchside reports from Martin Bayfield and Jim Hamilton.

Italy v France
Italy v France (Kick-off 3.00pm). Jill Douglas presents coverage of the final match in the opening round of fixtures, held at Stadio Olimpico in Rome. France recorded a 37-10 home win over the Italians in their first match of last year's championship and went on to win the Grand Slam. Italy finished bottom of the table once again, but they did end the campaign on a high when they prevailed 22-21 in Wales for their first Six Nations victory since 2015. With analysis from Brian O'Driscoll, Maggie Alphonsi and Benjamin Kayser, commentary by Miles Harrison, Ben Kay and Nolli Waterman, and reports from Gabriel Clarke.

Ireland v France
Ireland v France (Kick-off 3.00pm). Jill Douglas presents all the action from the match in the second round of fixtures, held at Aviva Stadium. France edged a thrilling encounter 30-24 when the sides met in Paris last year with the help of some fine kicking by Melvyn Jaminet. It proved to be a pivotal contest, as it was the only match Ireland lost, but Les Bleus went on to claim the Grand Slam. With analysis from Brian O'Driscoll, Rory Best and George Gregan, commentary by Miles Harrison, Gordon D'Arcy and Benjamin Kayser, and reports from Gabriel Clarke.

England v Italy
England v Italy (Kick-off 3.00pm). Mark Pougatch presents all the action from the final match in the second round of fixtures, held at Twickenham. England have won all 29 of the previous meetings between the sides, but the Italians did give them a scare here two years ago when they took an early lead thanks to a Monty Ioane try, before the hosts turned things around, scoring six tries in a 41-18 win. However, Italy are seemingly on an upward curve and will be buoyed by a memorable 22-21 win in Cardiff last March and by an impressive 28-27 victory over Australia in November. With analysis from Clive Woodward, Jonny Wilkinson and Lawrence Dallaglio, pitchside reports by Martin Bayfield and Maggie Alphonsi, and commentary from Nick Mullins, Ben Kay and David Flatman.

Italy v Ireland
Italy v Ireland (Kick-off 2.15pm). Jill Douglas presents all the action from both teams' third match of the championship, held at Stadio Olimpico. Italy lost their opening two matches at home to France and away to England, but will have found positives in their performances. However, the odds are stacked against them when they face Andy Farrell's men, who produced a strong display in an away win against Wales in Cardiff, before ending the French's run of seven straight Six Nations triumphs with a victory in Dublin. With analysis from Brian O'Driscoll, Rory Best and Maggie Alphonsi, commentary by Nick Mullins, Gordon D'Arcy and David Flatman, pitchside input from Lawrence Dallaglio, and reports from Gabriel Clarke.

France v Scotland
France v Scotland (Kick-off 3.00pm). Mark Pougatch presents coverage of the final match in the third round of fixtures, held at Stade de France. The French are the reigning champions, but laboured past Italy in their opener in Rome, before suffering a defeat away to Ireland last time out. They now face another tough test against the Scots, who are unbeaten so far following a third successive victory over England and a dominant display at home to Wales. With analysis from Ian McGeechan, Benjamin Kayser and Jonny Wilkinson, with pitchside inserts by Martin Bayfield and Jim Hamilton, and commentary from Miles Harrison, Scott Hastings and Ben Kay.
