Det är nyår. Börje Sander är ute och åker isjakt, resan slutar med att han åker i en vak. Johan och Berit anländer. Börje är en gammal bekant till Berit, en man som hon träffat en midsommar för länge sedan. Börje börjar åter uppvakta Berit de gör en utflykt ihop. Sören anar ugglor och får reda på att Börje storhandlat med Berits pengar. Sent går det upp för Berit vad han är för en och hon tar adjö genom att hälla en drink över honom på själva nyårsafton. Wilma har blivit bjuden på fest till Kugelmans. Där träffar hon Robin, en ovanlig tjej som Wilma gillar. Hon blir dessutom uppvaktad av Alexander, en snygg kille som är kusin till Filip. Ungdomarna planerar festen och märker att det behövs mer sprit. Wilma tar på sig att sno läkarsprit hemma. Wilma upptäcker att Robin är borta och de ger sig ut och letar efter henne. Robin ligger tunnklädd på isen tydligt berusad och Wilma ringer då efter Johan. Johan har ätit lunch med Axel som bjudit på svamp omelett. Efter det har Johan börjat känna sig dålig och han måste ställa in alla nyårsplaner. Illamåendet tilltar och efter utryckningen till Robin kollapsar Johan. Axel gör en hjälteinsats när han konstaterar njursten och ger Johan en kramplösande injektion. Johan blir sjukskriven till Axels förtjusning. Johan har talat med Eva och beslutat att Wilma och han ska åka ner och hälsa på mamma.
