Panic in the Streets

Simon and Siouxsie are woken up in the early hours of the morning with a call from panicked residents: a very large snake is slithering around their village, eating their livestock. There is only one snake that is capable of taking on large mammals in this area — the southern African python. A big snake like that, capable of killing a small child, is considered to be a huge threat to a community. Simon is concerned that the frightened members of the community will take matters in their own hands and either attempt to catch the snake or, worse, kill it. Time is of the essence, and the snake-catchers know they need to prepare themselves for either outcome. On another call out, Simon and Siouxsie find themselves working to the clock of nature itself. Instead of running into a situation and removing a snake as quickly and swiftly as possible, this time they have to wait: A hungry forest cobra wants to finish its breakfast first.
