Episode 1
Gertrude Morel hastily marries her husband, Walter Morel, after an explosive relationship of passion and lust. At first, the relationship remains as strong as it started. She is very happy and the couple eventually have children. However, their marriage starts to fall apart when Walter begins physically abusing Gertrude and their children.

Episode 2
Gertrude meets the fiancee of her oldest son, William, shortly before he suffers a tragic death.

Episode 3
Gertrude begins to focus her attention on younger son, Paul, who unfortunately for her, decides to spend his free time with a young woman named Mariam.

Episode 4
Younger son Paul breaks off his relationship with Mariam and falls into the arms of a new woman named Clara.

Episode 5
Son Paul shakes loose of his mother's grasp for a short time and begins to have an affair with Clara.

Episode 6
Paul continues his affair with Clara and although she lives apart from her husband he does not approve of her liaison.
