Berthold Hausmann, erfolgreicher Geschäftsmann und Eigentümer eines lukrativen Internet-Vertriebshandels, wird entführt und trotz gelungener Geldübergabe ermordet aufgefunden. Stubbe ist schockiert von der Brutalität, mit der die Täter dabei vorgegangen sind. Offenbar scheint es um mehr als nur Geld gegangen zu sein - Art und Härte lassen auf einen persönlichen Hintergrund schließen. Im Lauf seiner Ermittlungen stößt Stubbe auf Tobias Linde, einen ehemaligen Freund und Geschäftspartner von Berthold Hausmann. Aus der ursprünglich gemeinsamen Geschäftsidee hatte es der Tote zu Reichtum gebracht, Linde hingegen war sozial abgestürzt. Hatte Linde sich zurückgeholt, was ihm aus seiner Sicht zustand? Doch so sehr das Motiv zu passen scheint, so wenig kommt Stubbe voran. Vertieft in den Fall nimmt er kaum wahr, was sich währenddessen zu Hause tut. Charlotte hat für ihren letzten Lebensabschnitt eine wichtige Entscheidung zu treffen. Die sonst so entschlusskräftige ältere Dame scheint das erste Mal emotional überfordert. Da Stubbe wie immer beruflich eingespannt ist, kümmert sich Tochter Christiane um die widerspenstige Tante. Letztlich ist es Stubbes Freundin Marlene, die es schafft, auch ihm klarzumachen, Charlottes Entscheidungen zu respektieren. (ZDF)
