While Susan prepares to fly to Venice with a handsome millionaire, Jack tries to find the courage to reveal his feelings for her.

Past Tense
Susan wants to be the magazine's new investigative reporter, but Jack is more interested in hiring her abrasive high school rival, Maddy. Vicki is unnerved that the new food delivery guy, whom she briefly dated, doesn't recognize her.

Truth and Consequences
Margo's drunk with power during her divorce proceedings with Jack, thanks to Susan's inadvertent slip about Jack's intoxicating past: she interprets the fact that Jack fell asleep on Susan's couch as evidence that he had an affair with her, thus violating their pre-nuptial agreement. Now Susan must testify in court about her true feelings for Jack. Meanwhile, Vicky becomes obsessed with the idea that someone is tampering with her lunch; and Todd begs Luis to teach him how to dance.

Next Stop, Heaven
Family conflict rises to the top of the agenda at the funeral of Susan's grandfather, since Liz wants a traditional funeral while Nana wants a party to celebrate her spouse's wonderful life, and Susan is too busy organizing a tribute to her grandfather to deal with her own grief. Meanwhile Vicky, Todd and Luis go to the wrong funeral home and find themselves comforting the wrong widow; and Jack becomes the reluctant owner of a very, very ugly dog.

Susan's Minor Complication
Susan agrees to meet a gentleman who sent her a rare book as a token of his readership appreciation and is shocked to discover that he is a teenager. Meanwhile, Jack plays pimp for his ugly pooch; and stress takes its toll on Todd when he is put in charge of the magazine's new web site.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Maddy World
Susan's conflict with Maddy begins to invade her dreams, so she turns to a therapy group for help; Pete's partner thinks Pete and Jack are an item. Todd and Luis make an effort to live without "Seinfeld."

It's My Nana and I'll Cry If I Want To
Recently widowed Nana's friendship with Vicki makes Susan envious; Todd's parents announce they are expecting a baby.

A Kiss Before Dying ... on Stage
Susan is attracted to an aspiring actor who lacks talent. Maddy flirts with Jack while his divorce becomes final. Todd struggles with claustrophobia. Tony Bennett makes a special appearance.

The Old and the Beautiful
Susan makes friends with an elderly man and brings him together with his long lost brother and sister-in-law.

I Didn't Write This
When Nana covers for Susan by writing a column for her, Susan's readers think that it is the best thing that she's ever written. Vicki gets religious when she meets an attractive rabbi.

Yule Never Know
Jack volunteers the staff to sing Christmas carols at a local hospital. Susan gives Jack a private singing lesson. When he tries to kiss her, she resists, and Jack quits angrily. Susan later realizes that she wants to date Jack but finds him on the roof of the office building kissing Maddy.

A Kiss is Just Amiss
Shaken from witnessing Jack and Maddy's kiss, Susan shares her disappointment with Vicki---who shares it with the whole office. Meanwhile, Vicki tries to get closer to Ben.

The Big Shalom
Luis' lucky streak convinces Jack to take a trip to Reno, Susan's back goes out and Vicki worries that Ben is about to break up with her.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker
Susan fixes Nana up with a charming businessman---who's not exactly how he appears; Vicki arrives in Israel and tries to adapt to life on a kibbutz.

Car Trouble
Believing Luis was discriminated against at a car-rental agency, Susan launches an undercover investigation. Meanwhile, Vicki gets hung up in customs while returning from Israel.

Todd and the gang attend a Shawn Colvin performance, but the singer recalls Todd from his scathing review a year earlier. Meanwhile, Susan's apartment gets robbed, so she decides to get a gun.

Daddy Piper
When Jack is unable to work he puts Susan in charge. And it doesn't Make Maddy happy that she has to answer to her. And when her father, a noted journalist comes for a visit it only adds fuel to the fire.

Not in This Life
A stranger claims to have known Susan in a past life, so she undergoes hypnosis; Luis and Todd lose Jack's dog while using the pooch as a prop for meeting women.

On her 30th birthday, Susan expects a surprise party---but the gang seems to have forgotten; Todd accidentally downloads a computer virus that wipes out The Gate's files.

Todd follows Susan to poetry class and discovers a knack; Luis tells Vicki about a great apartment that turns out to be haunted.

Vicki looks for love at a hockey game, but it's Susan who attracts the attention of one of the athletes; Todd and Luis vie for the attentions of a new water delivery "man".
