Since its inception during Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami in 1999, the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration, (previously known as the "Super Bowl Gospel Celebration") (SBGC) is the first and only gospel event sanctioned by the NFL for Super Bowl Weekend. The concert series features Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling gospel and contemporary Christian and mainstream artists, marquee NFL players and the NFL Players Choir together on one stage for an evening of uplifting music and inspirational messages. The event is by far, the largest multi-cultural event to take place during Super Bowl weekend. SBGC has featured artists including Aretha Franklin, Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton & New Breed, Patti LaBelle, Yolanda Adams, Gladys Knight, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Mary Mary and Fantasia to name a few and hosts Wendy Williams, AJ Calloway, Rodney & Holly Peete, Rev. Run and CeCe Winans. Current and former NFL player participants have been Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, John Elway, Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb, Deion Sanders, Coach Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy and more. We will also have the NFL Players Choir to rock the house down!

The NFL Sanctioned Super Bowl Gospel Celebration gives back to each Super Bowl host city. Since 2002, more than 5,500 tickets and donations have been given to worthy organizations including Special Olympics, Urban League, Project Wave, YET and other charities. This year, SBGC will donate funds to the NFL Player Care Foundation (PCF). The NFL Player Care Foundation (PCF) is an independent organization dedicated to helping retired players improve their quality of life. PCF addresses all aspects of life by providing programs and assistance with medical, emotional, financial, social and community issues.
