Follows the footsteps of the two comic heroes and breathes new life into their adventures. A unique opportunity to meet or rediscover Tintin and their creator Hergé. Each film follows the plot of a comic book album: each episode retells the story of a specific album at the respective original locations. The documentaries follow the reporter Tintin and his dog Struppi to the countries they traveled to in the comic. Drawings from the albums are embedded in real film sequences and bring Tim and his friends to life. In addition to the elaborately designed album scenes, "Travelling with Tintin" uses archive images and selected expert interviews to show how Hergé processes historical events of his time in comics. Sources of inspiration for Hergé are cultures from all continents, major political events and also his own life. This is how the world of Tintin came into being, with which two generations have now grown up.

Tintin in Tibet: Nepal

Tintin decides to go in search of Chang, who has disappeared in an aeroplane crash in Nepal. Along with his faithful friends Captain Haddock and Snowy, the heroic reporter leads a gruelling mission through the peaks of the Himalayas. This adventure was written during a period of great change in Hergé's life and career. Twenty-five years after his meeting with Chang Chong-chen, Hergé was going through a difficult period in his life and often thought of his friend. During the troubled war years he had lost all trace of Chang and was desperate to make contact with him again. Although Hergé had no luck, Tintin eventually manages, against all the odds, to find his friend. Throughout the story there are no baddies, nor are there any car chases or madcap events: the narrative is kept bare and essential. This was Hergé's favourite book, and was probably the most personal adventure for the author.
