Susan Calman's Cruise of a Lifetime - Season 2

Season 2

Episodes

Episode 1
Susan Calman kicks off her new series with a quick flight from Dublin to New York. With just a few hours to spare before she boards her cruise, Susan decides that the quickest way to see the city that never sleeps is from the air — on a spectacular helicopter ride. She then takes a tour of her new home on board ship before setting sail for Newport, Rhode Island, where she swaps the ship for a slightly smaller craft, as she learns what it takes to steer an America's Cup yacht around the bay. Then, it's on to Boston and a trolleybus tour of the city — including popping into the bar where everybody knows your name and says ‘Cheers!'. Finally, in the home of the famous Boston Red Sox, she rounds off the day with a baseball lesson.

Episode 2
As the ship heads into Canadian waters, the presenter and her cruising companions stop off in Halifax, Nova Scotia to visit Peggy's Cove - a picture-postcard village with an iconic lighthouse. The vessel then makes a quick stop in Sept-Iles - and Susan explores one of the seven islands to learn about the abundance of seafood on its shores.

Episode 3
The presenter takes an early morning flight from Edinburgh to Dubrovnik, before boarding a cruise ship. Susan meets some new mates, who join her as they disembark in Crete for a tour around the beautiful old town and harbour of Chania. In Athens, Susan takes a look round the Acropolis, and later enjoys a day at the beach in Corfu.

Episode 4
The comedian's summer cruise around the Adriatic continues with a visit to the high-rolling and fashionable Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. She continues with a trip to the beautiful old Croatian town of Dubrovnik with the cruise ship's entertainment team, where she gets to visit a few of Game of Thrones' most famous locations and relive some iconic scenes.

Episode 5
In this episode Susan is on board a river cruise, sailing through Germany and The Netherlands along one of the world's greatest rivers, the Rhine. Her journey begins in the city of Frankfurt where she boards her home for the next seven days. The ship carries 170 passengers and, complete with a sun deck, games hub and a dance floor, it promises all the fun and games Susan is used to onboard! First stop is the fashion capital of Germany, Dusseldorf and dressed smartly, Susan joins her fellow cruisers on a walking tour of the old town. Next stop is Amsterdam where Susan gets to tiptoe through the tulips at the world famous Keukenhof Gardens. In the city she joins some friends to take a canal boat trip along the iconic waterways and also takes time out to visit Anne Frank's House and learn more about its tragic history.

Episode 6
Susan continues her cruise along the Rhine, and her first port of call is the pretty town of Marken. Where better than this quintessentially Dutch destination for Susan to buy some clogs? Let's just hope she doesn't have to walk too far to get back to the ship! Susan's next stop is Rotterdam and the World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk, where there are more Dutch icons to tick off her list: windmills and bicycles. But not having been on a bike for many years this could be an icon too many for Susan! The cruise continues south taking in the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen, where Susan tries not to go double Dutch as she attempts the local lingo and finds herself in a bit of bother when she is running late for the ship. The final destination along the Rhine is back in Germany - the birthplace of Beethoven: Bonn. Susan makes her tour guide debut and hosts her very own walking tour of the city with some guests from the ship.
