Christina förlorade sin son i en uppgörelse mellan kriminella gäng i Göteborg. Det första avsnittet av Svensk maffia handlar om hur helt vanliga människor drabbas av gängkriget. Blodiga strider och uppgörelser, ibland med dödlig utgång. Kriget mellan gängen i Göteborg har skördat flera dödsoffer och fått fruktansvärda konsekvenser för många människor. Bland annat för Christina, som förlorade sin tjugoårige son i en gänguppgörelse. Dessutom får tittaren möta en gängmedlem som än i dag inte vågar lämna sitt hem utan att bära skyddsväst. Polisen i Göteborg berättar också om trenden att gängen allt oftare beväpnar sig med skjutvapen och inte heller drar sig för att använda dem.
