In October 2011, a neighbor of Farmers Torgny and Inger Antby makes a horrific discovery. Torgny lies dead in the barn. When the police arrive at the apartment building, they make another horrific discovery.

On December 20, 2017, a lifeless man is found on Odinsgatan in Gothenburg. The deceased is Kai Foley, a 28-year-old Australian who recently moved to Sweden. The police are completely without a trace until they get a call.
