Back at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the young tank commander Nikolai Ivushkin participates in a hopeless battle against the unit of SS officer Klaus Jaeger. Miraculously surviving, Ivushkin is captured for three long years. When an irreversible turning point occurs in the war and the threat approaches the borders of the Third Reich, the German command is preparing to give a decisive rebuff to Soviet tanks.
