In the new "crime scene" from Cologne "Captive", inspectors Max Ballauf (Klaus J. Behrendt) and Freddy Schenk (Dietmar Bär) have to solve the murder of a chief physician in a psychiatric clinic. Ballauf himself is currently being treated: A trauma that he thought he had already overcome is coming back with a vengeance. After shooting his colleague Melanie Sommer (Anna Brüggemann) in action, he is plagued by nightmares and feelings of guilt. Sometimes he thinks he sees the dead woman in front of him.
