Two dead men in quick succession - murdered on the same pattern. Without a doubt, Commissioner Borowski is dealing with a perpetrator who will strike again. That's why, as an alleged new single, he goes looking for a partner through the local newspaper and meets women who are willing to commit and who have responded to his ad. He is observed by Frieda Jung and coached for the battle of the sexes. An unusual role for Borowski. He has to pose as a lonely and sensible man looking for Mrs. Right. Soon Borowski - undercover - gets to know the self-confident Gundula.
With her, he penetrates a tightly woven web of lonely hearts, including the potential killer, on his forays through the recreational groups and 40-plus meetings, putting himself in grave danger.
