Flying Pilot

It's 8.20 in the morning, and 17000 feet above Oxfordshire an unimaginable disaster has befallen a flight from Birmingham to Malaga. A front windscreen has blown out and a powerful, freezing wind is causing utter chaos in the passenger cabin. But the scene in the cockpit is even more terrifying. The captain has been sucked out of the empty window, his torso and head banging against the outside of the aircraft as a steward clings desperately onto his legs to try and stop him being lost completely.
Over the next hour, a truly remarkable story of terror and bravery unfolds as passengers struggle in oxygen deprived air, and the co-pilot is tasked with single handedly guiding the aircraft through busy airspace as a 250 mile-an-hour wind rushes into the flight deck.
In this episode we explore the remarkable story of Flight BA5390. Told through the first-hand testimonies of those involved and using vivid dramatic reconstruction and state-of-the-art special effects, Channel 5 takes viewers into the cabin and the cockpit for one of the most incredible aviation tales of all.

Amandaland
Following three series of the Merman-produced, BAFTA award-winning series Motherland, a brand-new spin-off, Amandaland, is coming to the BBC, focused on Amanda.
Post her divorce, Amanda has had to downsize and up sticks to South Harlesden, or as the Estate Agent calls it SoHa (definitely not the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison).
With both Manus and Georgie now at secondary school, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Not even a woman as certain of her parenting as Amanda can deal with these nightmares alone.
Then there's Amanda's mother Felicity who is constantly around, and completely in denial that she is, in fact, lonely. Theirs is a slightly unhealthy co-dependent relationship based on backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home.
After a brief spell of freedom, Anne is sucked back into being Amanda's minion to help her navigate the social scene with the other parents at the children's new school. Thank God for Anne.
