Season 1
Episodes

Episode 1
A social experiment in which presenter Josie Gibson immerses herself in the food, drink and health culture of the 1970s, to discover if the average diet from what is often seen as one of the unhealthiest decades in British history could have something to teach modern eaters. Josie speaks to doctor and nutritionist Helen Lawal, who confirms that obesity rates have grown significantly since the 1970s and creates Josie a bespoke diet based on the average amount of calories an adult would have eaten 50 years ago and asks her to take six short, brisk walks a week to match the exercise levels of the '70s. Before Josie's regime begins, she takes a series of physiological tests that will be repeated after the experiment to measure its impact.

Episode 2
Josie Gibson joins a disco-inspired dance class that soared in popularity across the decade, and enjoys half a fish-and-chip supper that represents the typical 1970s portion size. She also visits the Museum of Brands and discovers that the decade marked a pivotal shift in eating habits. Josie hosts a 1970s-themed party, before doctor and nutritionist Helen Lawal reveals the impact the '70s diet and lifestyle has had on the presenter's weight, fitness and health.
