In the spring-fed stream of the Gangtey Valley and the torrential Tang River, Charles braves extreme cold and altitude sickness in search of his precious catch.

Charles Rangeley-Wilson heads to the Rio Negro, regarded as the best place for fishing in the Amazon, in search of peacock bass. The fish is known to challenge the hardiest of anglers, and Charles's efforts take him upriver from his base in search of a wise man said to know the secrets of making the elusive catch.

Charles Rangeley-Wilson concludes his angling journey with an emotional trip to London, where he attempts to catch rare wild brown trout in places including the surprisingly serene River Wandle, the bustle of Wandsworth town, and the capital's sewers as he traces the now-hidden River Fleet.
