PC Honey Harman proves herself to be a very capable officer when she and DC Brandon Kane investigate a case involving an abandoned baby. Honey shows an ability to form a relationship with the mother and impresses Brandon with her policing skills. She is ultimately disappointed when the mother goes back to her violent husband but is comforted by Brandon and the spark that is beginning to develop between them. Samantha Nixon is on edge regarding her possible promotion to DI and works hard to get a result in a difficult case surrounding a mysterious death. Her intuitive police skills and her focused persistence enable her to get an outcome that leaves a lasting impression throughout the relief. Sam is sure that she's done enough to get the promotion, but Superintendent Adam Okaro speaks to DCI Jack Meadows and suggests otherwise. Smithy has trouble keeping PC Gabriel Kent's identity to himself; he believes that Sergeant June Ackland has a right to know that he's her son. Inspector Gin
