DS Samantha Nixon and DS Ramani De Costa investigate a case of domestic violence which eventually turns out to be a murder. The investigation is hindered by PC Cathy Bradford who loses control and resorts to unconventional interview methods which force Ramani to cut the interview short. When Cathy goes on to lose a vital piece of evidence, Ramani can take no more and demotes her back to uniform. Christine Weaver is found attacked and the suspect is Cindy Hunter. When Inspector Gina Gold confronts PC Nick Klein about his suspected drug abuse he is forced to admit he's been collecting evidence to prove that DS Phil Hunter is the father of Christine's baby. Now that the truth is finally out the situation cannot be contained. Cindy goes to Christine's house and attacks her again. Dennis Weaver still doesn't know that Madison is not his child but the actions of a bitter and unforgiving Nick could change that in an instant.
