Season 1
On the South Side of Chicago, fates can change in an instant and beauty and community persist even when tragedy intervenes. As lives intersect, the people who call The Chi home strive to make the right choices and overcome life's challenges.

Season 2
Brandon strives to make his food truck a success while navigating the class differences with his girlfriend Jerrika. Emmett makes an effort to get custody of his son, guided by his mother Jada. Kevin reckons with the trauma of what he has experienced in his young life as he strengthens the bonds with Papa and Jake, whose older brother Reg exposes Jake to twisted lessons in street survival. An imprisoned Ronnie attempts to come to terms with killing Brandon's brother and reclaim his life, and Detective Cruz launches a new investigation.

Season 3
A maturing Emmett tries to alter the way his mother sees him, moving from unmotivated teen to full-fledged businessman, but Jada has her sights set on her own next chapter. Ronnie is unsure of his life's purpose, but hopes it's not too late to transform himself. Kevin, Kiesha and their newlywed mothers, Nina and Dre, undergo a seismic shift in their family. Jake finds himself in a tug-of-war between his estranged brother Trig, and Douda, his powerful new father-figure, while Papa finds love in an unlikely place.

Season 4
Jake, Papa and Kevin must confront the harsh reality of how the world views young, Black men in the aftermath of an act of police brutality. As the three friends reckon with a broken system, the aftershocks ripple across the South Side.

Season 5
This season Black love takes centerstage. Emmett and Tiff forge a new path in their relationship as Tiff grows closer to Rob. Meanwhile, Kevin finds love where he least expects it as Jake and Jemma navigate life as a couple. With his boys in relationships, Papa finds himself a bit on the outside looking in, but still knows how to get himself in trouble. Kiesha cares for baby Ronnie as Nina and Dre work together to support Lynae. Jada assesses her life post-cancer and Trig considers a political run, even as Douda plots a comeback.

Season 6

Season 7
In season seven, with Alicia at the helm, the pivotal women of The Chi rise to reclaim their power. Yet as loyalties are tested and new rivalries are stoked, it becomes clear that there's only one crown and it will come at a heavy cost.

Season 8
As The Chi enters its eighth and final season and its coldest winter ever, life or death choices must be made. The question becomes, who is willing to make them? Legacy, conflict, joy, and pain. It all collides in the biggest, most emotionally riveting way ever seen this season.

The Terror

The series is named after Dan Simmons's 2007 novel, which serves as the basis for the first season and is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition to the Arctic in 1845–1848.
The second season, subtitled Infamy, bears no relation to the book or first season and is mostly set in an American-run Japanese internment camp during World War II.

Severance
