Steven Gault was stood beside his father when a bomb exploded, killing his father and 10 others instantly. Since then he has campaigned for justice for his family and the other victims.

Peter Tobin married Margaret Mountney when she was seventeen, a whirlwind romance which quickly descended to violence and rape.

Caroline Langlade
Caroline Langlade hid with 40 other people as ISIS gunmen opened fire in the Bataclan concert hall in November 2015. Now she runs an organisation to support the traumatised survivors.

Pam Warren
Pam Warren was engulfed by a fireball in a rail disaster that left hundreds dead or injured. She suffered burns and wore a mask over her face after a string of operations.

Declan Brady was on a flight from London to Belfast when the aircraft crashed. He managed to escape, having to crawl over people who were dead or dying in the process.

Aimie Adams was 5 years old when Thomas Hamilton went on a shooting rampage killing 16 pupils and one teacher at Dunblane Primary School.

Sameem Ali
Sameem Ali was taken to Pakistan and made to marry a stranger. She became pregnant and was left isolated from her peers back home, told she could go home only if she was pregnant.

Breivik
The final episode tells of the massacre on Utøya island in 2011, with courageous accounts of human bravery, including how one boy selflessly threw himself in front of Breivik's gun to save the life of a girl he didn't even know.
