An elderly woman is found brutally murdered in her upper-middle-class home, an apparent victim of a robbery gone wrong. As Lethbridge Police Detective Ryan Stef investigates, he uncovers a web of lies that implicates a shocking suspect. But with no clear evidence, he's forced to resort to unconventional tactics to try and close the case. Will his investigative creativity work? Retired Staff Sergeant Steve Kovach served with the Hamilton Police Service for 34 years in a variety of positions including the Homicide Unit. He is the recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal, a Chief's Commendation, and numerous Divisional Commendations. He retired in 2012 and is currently working in the Recruiting Branch of the Hamilton Police Service.

A missing pregnant woman turns up dead on the shores of the Delta Causeway after attending a yoga class. Her abandoned car is located nowhere near her body or the class. Delta Police Detective Harj Sidhu is brought in to investigate and forced to delve into his own Punjabi community to try and understand who killed the beloved young mother and elementary school teacher — and why.
