Episode 1
Jane Percy, the Duchess of Northumberland, builds the fairy-tale village of her dreams on the grounds of Alnwick Castle. She tours the castle and shares her visions of the village Lilidorei which include the world's largest play structure, nine different clan houses and a hobgoblin prison but things go wrong when builders discover an ancient culvert on the site of the build and the ramifications ramp up the budget by £13million.

Episode 2
The Duchess hopes to start a new tradition by hosting the Mr Gay England contest in The Alnwick Garden and works with operations manager Wayne to rework the design for the Lilidorei project. With a projected overspend of £13million, the pair need to cut costs to bring it back within budget.

Episode 3
While the Lilidorei project is on hold due to planning permission delays, the Duchess stays busy with a packed schedule of events over the winter season. The Duchess plants 11 stuffed dogs around the premises to feel more at home at Alnwick Castle and prepares for the arrival of her pet rats. Head butler Jan has his work cut out for him as the staff prepare for a high-profile state dinner and battle against storm Arwen to decorate the 16ft Christmas tree.

Episode 4
Duchess Jane Percy escapes the cold winter weather with a quick trip to Florida to visit her daughter Missy and granddaughter Bluebell. Back on site, 1,000 tons of concrete arrive for the foundations of the new play structure, which is being built in Copenhagen.

Episode 5
When the news of Queen Elizabeth II's death is announced, the Duchess carries out an age-old ceremony to proclaim the new King and prepares for her eldest son to inherit the title of Duke. The stair carpet is replaced with a hand-woven one costing over £60,000 and behind the scenes with the staff reveals a glimpse of head butler Jan's home life. Construction begins on the world's largest play structure in Lilidorei.

Episode 6
Everyone has their work cut out for them and it's all hands on deck for the countdown to the opening of Lilidorei. With six-metre-tall wishing trees and ginormous magic mushrooms to be delivered and implemented, the castle staff are taken off their day jobs and put on Lilidorei duty. Saul and Andrew help the Duchess raid the castle cellars for props and the team give the Duchess a surprise birthday celebration.
