Season 1
Hua Min Chu is a young student who loves his country. He has a promise of marriage to Zhong Yao whom he refers to as an older sister as they grew up together. After graduation, Hua Min Chu turns down Zhong Yao's job offer because he intends to forge his own path.
Hua Min Chu unexpectedly obtains a scroll of unknown origin which leads to his first encounter with Xi Shui and many others. Along the way, Hua Min Chu discovers that there is more to his true identity. He also comes to admire his acquaintances at the bottom rungs of the ladder who can sacrifice everything for their country.
As the one in charge of the scroll, Hua Min Chu becomes the head of the eight. His journey takes him to many places as he grows through his experiences with Xi Shui by his side. However, the mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes is gradually revealed. Against all odds, Hua Min Chu leads his comrades to crush a conspiracy.
