Cookie Week
The contestants bake bar cookies; biscotti and 3-D iced cookie scenes.

Bread Week
The bakers create perfectly sized dinner rolls using unique flavors, make a traditional German Christmas fruit and nut bread, and build bread sculptures.

Pies & Tarts Week
Competitors are challenged to create sweet and savory pies and tarts, including meringue pies, pear tarts and hors d'oeuvre tartlets.

Chocolate Week
The bakers create molten lava cakes, decadent truffles and layered mousse cake.

Custard & Meringue Week
The bakers tackle Crème Brûlée, oeufs en neige and petite pavlovas; two bakers are sent home.

Patisserie Week
The bakers prepare Petit four glacé-style mini cakes, French crullers and mille-feuille.

The Finals
The final two bakers face the three most difficult baking challenges; one will be named America's best amateur baker.
