Case of the Magic Mandarin
In a journey to Canada, filled with murder and magic, we begin this series of the hearty detective who finds mystery and murder In Victorian Canada. Detective Inspector Cameron of the Glasgow Police arrives in Toronto to take charge of his young niece Prudence, who has recently lost her parents in an epidemic and becomes involved in a bizarre murder case. As a reward for solving the mystery, he is appointed by the Premier to be Ontario's first Provincial detective.

The Black Curse
Inspector Cameron visits an Indian Shaman whose cabin has apparently been burned by white farmers. While investigating the case, Cameron soon discovers that the local Indians own and have rights to very fertile and possibly oil rich property.

Inspector Alastair Cameron is led from one theatrical murder to another as he tries to determine who is the victim and who is the murderer. A dwarf, an orchestra leader and a soprano figure prominently in Cameron's investigation of several theatrical murder cases.

Inspector Cameron is called to Blenheim to investigate the murder of an unidentified young man found floating face down in the swamp.

Bloodhounds Can't Fly
Inspector Cameron uses a bloodhound to assist him in the search for hidden diamonds used as a ranson pay off in an apparent kidnapping.
