Eighteen-year-old Xia Xia was admitted to the Law School of Nanjing University with excellent grades, but her stepfather was not prepared to support her to go to college. In order to go to school, she had to pretend to her stepfather that she left home to work and make money. After entering the school, in addition to studying every day, she was busy with part-time work and met Xie Huai, a classmate who also worked part-time outside the school to make money. Because of misunderstandings, the two did not like each other, but with Xia Xia's active approach, they gradually became familiar with each other and became partners. Xia Xia gradually understood Xie Huai's past. He avoided his studies because of his inner trauma, and worked to make money to treat his mother's illness. Xia Xia helped Xie Huai regain his ideals and face his studies. The two also gradually developed feelings in mutual help and healing. As Xie Huai was about to graduate from university, his mother had to go abroad for treatment due to worsening illness, and had to separate from Xia Xia.
