Cakes
The culinary contest returns to test the skills of 12 passionate home bakers as they battle it out to be crowned Best Amateur Baker by judges Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon. In the first edition, the hopefuls must make a cake that displays their personality to the judges, before they face a dreaded technical challenge. Presented by Anna Nolan

Pastry
The 11 bakers face the task of rustling up two pastries - one sweet and one savoury - before tackling the dreaded technical challenge. This week it is set by Biddy White Lennon, who is joined by fellow judge Paul Kelly to assess the results. Presented by Anna Nolan.

Biscuits
The nine remaining contestants are challenged to bake two biscuits - one sweet and one savoury - for judges Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon. Hosted by Anna Nolan

Continental
The eight remaining contestants are tested to the limit in the first 'continental' challenge. They then face a dreaded choux construction, in which they are able to bake anything they like - apart from a croquembouche. Presented by Anna Nolan, with judges Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon

Bread
The remaining seven bakers are past the halfway mark of the competition, and for their signature challenge they must rustle up both a savoury and a sweet bread. They also face the dreaded technical challenge, with each hoping to prove they have got what it takes to cut the mustard in the kitchen. Presented by Anna Nolan

Classics
Week six of the competition arrives, and things are really heating up for the remaining seven bakers. Today is all about classic baking, and the contestants must create a pear tarte Tatin in the technical challenge, while the showstopper this time is a 'surprise inside cake'. Presented by Anna Nolan.

Semi-Final
The remaining five bakers compete in the semi-final in the seventh week of the competition, for which the theme is summer desserts. The participants face a signature challenge, as well as a fiendishly difficult task - set by judge Paul Kelly - that puts their technical skills to the test. Presented by Anna Nolan, with Biddy White Lennon.

The Final
The three remaining bakers compete in the final, having to prepare macaroons in a test of their technical prowess, before facing the showstopper challenge. Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon then decide who will be crowned the winner
