"The Hathaways" is a 26-episode sitcom that aired on ABC from October 6, 1961, to March 30, 1962. The show stars Peggy Cass and Jack Weston as suburban Los Angeles "parents" to a trio of performing chimpanzees. Weston plays Walter Hathaway, a real estate agent, while Cass portrays his wife Elinore, who is the "mother" and booking agent for the Marquis Chimps, named Candy, Charlie, and Enoch. The chimps had previously appeared on CBS's "The Ed Sullivan Show" and appeared in some commercials in 1960.
