The severity with which King Donovan punishes his son for his failures sharply contrasts with the generosity he displays to his subjects and guests. Among the king's current guests is Prince Valiant, who senses that both father and son are troubled in some way. And then there is the mystery of the unknown flute player whose sad melody haunts the castle...
