Porteus
Sgt Dave Porteus comes to the rescue of a young woman, banged up for burglary, who tries to kill herself by shoving toilet paper down her throat. And when she's on the mend, two more detainees decide that spitting is an acceptable form of greeting. Needless to say, Sgt Porteus disagrees.

Grunner
A detainee who has just overdosed on heroin is Sgt Grunner's first challenge in this episode of The Lock-Up. The man is a regular visitor to Humberside Police Headquarters' custody suite, but his heroin addiction is getting worse and worse. This time he loses consciousness in his cell, and only the swift actions of the custody nurse save his life.

Swann
Crimes against businesses are on the up in Hull. One man, caught with an industrial chop-saw perched on his handlebars, claims to be looking after it for a mate but the cops aren't convinced. Someone else is brought in for attacking a thief who was breaking into his white van. How far can you go in protecting your business?

West
Two thousand kids pass through the custody suites of Humberside Police every year. In Episode Four of The Lock-Up, Custody Sergeant Rich West has to play it both hard and soft to manage a group of kids in cells next to some of Hull's most unappealing criminals.

Swann
Of the 25,000 people who pass through the police cells of Humberside Police each year, more than a third are under the influence of booze or drugs. For the first time in his career, Sergeant Peter Swann has to close the lock-up when an alcoholic's epileptic fit requires cops from across the city to assist in his control.

Episode 6
The final episode of The Lock-Up offers an honest account of life inside the custody suite at Humberside Police HQ. One regular offender is convinced there's an invasion of ants in his cell. Another, threatening to kill himself, has to be restrained with body straps.
