Flora London Marathon 2006

Sue Barker introduces live coverage of the 26th running of the world's most famous road race, the London Marathon. 32,000 runners start the 26.2 mile journey that begins in Greenwich Park and ends in the Mall.
The men's elite field has legendary Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie, Olympic champion Stefano Baldini, world champion Jaouad Gharib and world record holder Paul Tergat. Despite Paula Radcliffe's absence there is still a very strong women's field including 2004 winner Margaret Okayo, American Deena Kastor and Romanian Constantina Dita.
