Maxx becomes a cartoon version of himself, as he jumps between his and Julie's Outbacks.

Maxx battles Hammerhead, a vicious shark-man, and Julie journeys into the deepest buried levels of her own mind.

Episode 9
Sara discovers a mysterious block of talking clay while a growing and shrinking Maxx fights to protect Julie.

Episode 10
Sara confronts her spirit animal and Julie is exposed to some new truths about Maxx and Mr. Gone.

Episode 11
After Maxx tells Sara and some neighborhood kids an Outback story, Julie discovers Mr. Gone's rotting head in her apartment.

Episode 12
Mr. Gone reveals the graphic series of events that made Julie what she is today.

Episode 13
In the final episode of 'The Maxx,' Julie parts ways with Maxx, freeing him to discover his own Outback.

The second season, subtitled Infamy, bears no relation to the book or first season and is mostly set in an American-run Japanese internment camp during World War II.
