The Monkees - Season 1

When Davy rescues a damsel in distress, she turns out to be a princess whose uncle is out to assassinate her. Davy and his bandmates--Micky, Peter, and Mike--won't let that happen.

The Monkees stay overnight at a supposedly haunted house, but it may be the living guests who are the most dangerous.

When Mike is hired to work for a toy company, he meets Mr. Daggert (Stan Freberg), a cold-hearted business man who believes toys should only be designed by computers. Daggert fires a kindly old toymaker, but Mike--and the rest of the Monkees--won't stand for that decision.

It looks like the Monkees might win a band contest, but not if Nick Trump can help it. He befriends the Monkees, all the while plotting to have them kidnapped so his clients, the Four Swine, can win.

The Monkees end up in possession of stolen microfilm, and a spy agency enlists their help to keep it from falling into Russia's hands.

Davy fears that if his visiting grandfather finds out he isn't a success, he will rip Davy away from his best friends and take him back to England.

Rose Marie, Lon Chaney Jr., and Len Lesser guest star in an episode where gangsters take the Monkees prisoner in an isolated ghost town.

There's a horse in the house when Davy takes in a young boy's horse. Chaos with the landlord and a veterinarian breaks out! The boys must figure out a way to make sure the little boy is able to keep his horse, and it includes farm work and Davy acting as a jockey.

Davy's newest gal has a strict father and is only allowed to attend chaperoned parties, so the Monkees hire their cleaning lady. But when the woman passes out from too much alcohol, Micky dons a dress and wig and takes her place.

In this pilot episode, the Monkees get hired to play Vanessa Russell's birthday party, but when she becomes infatuated with Davy, her studying for school falls by the wayside. If her grades don't improve, the Monkees are out of a gig.

The Monkees have a plan to wrestle ownership of a restaurant away from gangsters. It involves working as waiters--and posing as gangsters--all at the same time.

The usually smart Mike is conned by a phony song publisher. Micky, Davy, and Peter plot to get Mike's money back. Featuring the first appearance of the Monkeemen.

Poor Peter falls for wealthy Valerie Cartwright. The other Monkees make sure Valerie notices Peter.

Ruthless gypsies kidnap the Monkees and get them to steal the priceless Maltese Vulture for them.

Peter vanishes in the middle of a gig. His friends find him, but he no longer remembers them.

A mad scientist steals the Monkees' talent and gives it to his Frankenstein-like android.

The Monkees scramble to audition for a big producer, unaware that the mystery group he is looking for is them.

Davy becomes a champion boxer. When his bandmates discover the fights are fixed, he doesn't believe them.

The real life Davy Jones pulls double duty, playing TV character Davy and the shy Prince Ludlow, who asks TV character Davy to win him a bride.

Widow Millie (played by Rose Marie in her second Monkees appearance) moves in with the Monkees against their wishes. At first, this is a hassle, but the Monkees grow to love her.

While working at a phone answering service, Davy delivers an incriminating message to a policeman in front of his wife, Peter ticks off some crooks trying to place bets, and Mike comes to the rescue of a suicidal actress.

All four Monkees fall for the same girl, April (played by Julie Newmar).

The Monkees travel to Manhattan to star in an aspiring playwright's new show, but when his backer backs down, the Monkees must search for a new angel.

When they get work as extras in a beach movie, the Monkees try to get rid of an arrogant teen idol (played by Bobby Sherman) and replace him with Davy.

Not a typical episode, "The Monkees on Tour" is more of a mini-documentary chronicling the real life Monkees' concert stop in Phoenix, Arizona.
