Richelle and Shad hold auditions to find a soloist to be the lead in Step Inside. When one of the dancers has conflicting feelings about the team's choice to forgo nationals, they dance out their feelings, which results in Richelle and Shad offering them the role. Meanwhile, Jude finds a way for Cleo to still go to nationals, with disastrous consequences.
