The Piano - Season 1

Season 1
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, each week, talented amateur pianists will be invited to play on public pianos in London St Pancras, Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham train stations, sharing their stories and music with the great British public.
However, what the piano performers don't know is that two of the most acclaimed and successful performers in the world – Lang Lang and Mika – will be secretly watching and one performer will be given a once in a lifetime offer by them, an invitation to perform on one of the world's most prestigious stages.

Episode 1
Claudia Winkleman hunts for Britain's best amateur pianists, by scouting passionate ivory-tinklers playing public pianos in train stations across the country, starting in London.

Episode 2
The search for Britain's best amateur pianists rolls into Leeds train station, with a Chopin lover, a piano on wheels, and a unique performance that stops the station in its tracks.

Episode 3
In Glasgow, an 86-year-old father of 11 hits the keys as more outstanding amateur pianists wow the public. There's also an Elton John-playing YouTube star and a boogie woogie biker.

Episode 4
At Birmingham New Street, things get misty-eyed as a Welsh retiree takes the piano off down memory lane. Plus: a unique Harry Styles cover and some toe-tapping Jerry Lee Lewis.

The Final
The four pianists prepare for the final - to play before a packed house at the Royal Festival Hall. Who will deliver the winning performance? And will there be a last twist on the night?

The Hairdresser Mysteries
The Hairdresser Mysteries is a nostalgic nod to the 70s which sees a high-end hairdresser, Lily Petal, opt out of the competitive city scene to buy a small village hairdressers at the top of a cobbled street. Everyone tells their hairdresser everything and soon she is at the hub of her new village's secrets and revelations, and with her own brand of uncannily highly developed, hairdressing intuitive empathy and understanding, solves the village mysteries.

Ghosts
Samantha and Jay throw caution to the wind when they convert their recently inherited country estate into a bed-and-breakfast. Call it mislaid plans. Not only is the place falling apart, but it's also inhabited by spirits of previous residents -- whom only Samantha can see and hear. Ghosts spins the funny, heartfelt story about a newfound dream that reveals connection and self-discovery aren't just for the living.
