Instead of asking Won-gyeong for a regrettable favor, Bang-won tries to turn the situation around by abandoning Yeong-sil...

Meanwhile, Chae-ryeong, who has sensed the king's loneliness, approaches Bang-won more actively and eventually becomes pregnant.

Episode 6

In her negotiations with Lee Seong-gye, Bang-won promises one thing. He will cut off the vested interests based in Gaegyeong and return to Hanyang. However, the core of those vested interests includes Won-gyeong's maternal family, the Min family.

Episode 7
After returning to Hanyang, Bangwon devoted himself to stabilizing the royal authority and taking care of the people. One day, he received a request for a princess from the Ming Dynasty. Won-gyeong incited his officials to pressure Bangwon, saying that he could not send the princess, and he resolved the issue under his own responsibility. When the Min clan tried to expand their power by trusting the queen, Bangwon tried to break through by declaring that he would abdicate to Crown Prince Yangnyeong…

However, Won-gyeong's younger brothers are among the speculators. This puts Won-gyeong in danger...

Episode 9
Bang-won tries to choose the crown princess for political reasons, but Won-gyeong argues that it is right to prioritize qualifications. In the end, Won-gyeong makes the process of choosing the crown princess public, thereby breaking the king's will. Chae-ryeong finds out the whereabouts of Pan-su, who has been Won-gyeong's informant for a long time, and informs Bang-won. Bang-won decides to use this as a means to weaken Won-gyeong's power...

Episode 10
Won-gyeong, who disobeyed the king's orders and left the palace to collect Pan-su's body, finds out that some of the king's relatives have been embezzling the grain and wealth the king had given to the people. He tries to tell Bang-won about this, but he is caught in an unexpected plot and not only does he lose the deposed queen, but his life is also threatened... With the help of the people, Won-gyeong returns to Hanyang and tells Bang-won all of the facts... This incident serves as an opportunity for Bang-won to recall that Won-gyeong had the same dream as him.

Episode 11
Apart from his love for Won-gyeong, Bang-won ordered the death of the queen's younger siblings who were already political obstacles. Won-gyeong, although feeling bloody, tries to understand and accept Bang-won, the king of Joseon, rather than his personal feelings. However, he can never treat Bang-won with the same feelings as before. As Prince Seongnyeong dies together, the two regain their trust as a couple before becoming kings... The last task for them is to replace the crown prince.

Episode 12
Bangwon, who believes that Crown Prince Yangnyeong's qualifications are lacking but can be improved upon, eventually decides to depose Yangnyeong, accepting Won-gyeong's advice that a king who lacks qualifications should be replaced because he is endangering the people. Won-gyeong makes Chungnyeong reveal his vision to his father directly, providing the basis for Bangwon to decide on Chungnyeong as the crown prince... As soon as he ascends the throne, Chungnyeong establishes the foundation for the great Joseon Dynasty that his mother, Queen Wongyeong, had dreamed of so much and makes it blossom.
