Somewhere in modern day Rathmines, Dublin, struggling ‘artiste' Kevin Stokes and his long suffering journalist girlfriend, Mary, hatch a scheme to escape their dingy bedsit –with €800 deposit intact.
Elsewhere in Rathmines, Kevin's old college buddies, Seamus and Ray, have evicted knife-wielding housemate, Jorgen. They decide to set up a formal interview process with the clear intent to recruit the hottest female housemate ever. Meanwhile Kevin's escape plan quickly unravels and leads to a violent brush with death.

Episode 2
Kevin and Mary are moving their belongings into their new house. The removal company is run by an eccentric figure known as Mr. Move. Ray impresses Mr. Move by lifting Kevin's ‘travel barrel' with one hand and is immediately offered a job.
Seamus is troubled by a sexual deviancy involving pink ribbons and he turns to his religious faith for solace. Meanwhile, due to a mishap concerning Mary's new clothes; she is forced to attend work at the Dublin Comet clad entirely in hideous eighties/nineties garb. And finally, Kevin's attempts to apply for rent allowance leads to unforeseen consequences for the hapless foursome.
