Cheryl Cooper escapes to an Amish community in Sugarcreek, Ohio, to manage a gift shop after a failed engagement. Drawn into one mystery after another, Cheryl quickly realizes her sharp instincts and outsider perspective are exactly what this tight-knit community needs.

It's 1987, and Detective Georgia Cooke is called in to investigate the massacre of four scientists who have been brutally murdered in inexplicable ways, with a lone survivor the obvious suspect.
