Brigadier General Forges is put in charge of the murder investigation, much to the dismay of retired officer Eliyahu Zabatani, Racheli's father and the one who led to the conviction of Deloya. Forges sets up a special investigation team and doesn't include Racheli in it, but she fights for her place. At the young girl's funeral, her brother points an accusing finger in an unexpected direction.

When Michael, the son of the convicted murderer, is violently attacked, new questions arise regarding the connection between Ruby Deloya and the murder of the girl Natalie Levy, and the involvement of a mysterious woman. Information from a surprising source leads Racheli to fear that another girl has been brutally murdered.

Rumors of a serial killer terrorize the residents but give the Deloya family hope that Ruby will be acquitted. Everyone seems to be a suspect, including a conspiratorial journalist, a real estate developer, the chief Rabbi and the mayor. At this moment, secrets from Racheli's past are revealed and come to the ears of Forges, and she is thrown out of the unit.

Is "the murderous rabbit" a derogatory nickname for Shiran, a girl with a cleft lip, who suffered mental abuse and social boycott? Shiran is interrogated and provides a disturbing angle on the personality of the murdered girl.
