Henry Farr a Wimbledon solicitor is desperate to get rid of his wife. He settles on murder as the solution, and taking his cue from the example of Everett Maltby the Wimbledon poisoner he alights on poison as the way to kill her.He decides to put thallium into her chicken for dinner. However everywhere he goes Inspector Rush a friend of Elinor's seems to appear. The plan to kill her at dinner does not go to plan as their friend Donald arrives earlier than expected. When the neighbours begin to drop dead at an alarming rate, Henry realises that killing people is not quite as straightforward as he first thought...
