The World from Above - All Seasons

Season 1
The World from Above is a unique continuing series of aerial programmes offering an entirely different view of the world. From 10,000ft, down to just a few feet the stabilised high definition aerial camera seeks out the beautiful, as well as the dramatic, on journeys across very different parts of the world.
Each journey takes the audience on a magical trip and offers up the world from a new angle. The locations range from glorious beaches to high mountains, great cities to hill top villages, fantastic castles to ancient forts, impressive bridges to enormous ships, high waterfalls to mighty rivers and also great natural wonders of the world, such as the Niagara Falls in the United States and Table Mountain in South Africa. Each programme includes at least twenty five places, which all have a story to tell, whether from an historic point of view, or just the sheer beauty of the landscape.
The World from Above allows the audience to sit back and enjoy a different and often thrilling perspective of our world from the comfort of an armchair. At one moment the camera could be directly overhead a mighty waterfall, at another moment flying at a few feet above a desert road, high in the clouds, close to aircraft taking off or thousands of feet above a great city.

Season 2
The second series of The World from Above flies across some of the most beautiful and dramatic places in the world including floating over Venice; finding four US presidents carved into the rock at Mount Rushmore; circling over twenty chateaux in the Loire Valley; flying up the Danube to find an enormous temple dedicated to Valhalla; discovering the largest solar complex at Seville; revealing Civil War battlefields in Virginia; seeking out s Atlantic Wall in the Channel Islands; exploring the beautiful coastline of Maine; peering through mist at Mizzen Head in Ireland; Flying coast to coast across Scotland; circling the largest of the Balearic Islands; discovering the beauty of South Carolina and soaring over one of the largest bridges in the world between two Danish islands. Each programme takes in around thirty spectacular locations and shows them in a unique way from the air.

Season 3
The third series of The World from Above once more showcases some of the most beautiful and dramatic places in the world from stunning beaches and mountains in Ibiza to the dramatic east coast of Scotland with ancient castles.
Explore Berlin from a different angle and see the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag and discover some of the greatest ancient Greek temples in Sicily. Fly low over the beaches of Normandy in France where the D Day landings took place and watch the sun set over the summit of Mount Snowdon in Wales in the dramatic Snowdonia National Park.
Discover where the Puritans on the Mayflower made there first permanent settlement in Massachusetts and fly along one of the most glorious coastlines in Italy past Amalfi and Positano and on to the Island of Ischia; discover where explorers left Lisbon in Portugal to seek out new worlds across the Atlantic.
Find out where the US Marines train their new recruits on Parris Island in South Carolina and explore some of the most dramatic and varied landscape in the world in Iceland from geysers to glaciers. Then fly along the white cliffs of southern England and past castles which have defended this island fortress, and in Delaware find out where the Dupont family made gunpowder before creating Nylon, Teflon and Kevlar and built beautiful houses on their growing fortune.

The stunning aerial franchise - The World From Above - returns for a fourth series featuring breathtaking footage from up to 10,000 feet of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland as well as a number of beautiful locations across the USA and the UK.

Back by popular demand, The World From Above returns for a much-anticipated fifth series featuring exciting locations including USA, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Portugal.

Series 8 travels everywhere from Spain to South Africa, from the north of Iceland to North Carolina in the USA.
