Episode 1
The show that looks at life in the national parks of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales returns for a new series. In the Lakes, champion sheep breeder Arnold Lancaster prepares his flock for the famous Westmorland County Show. In the Dales, the church bells at St Bartholomew's remain silent after their belfry has fallen into disrepair. Locals arrange a fund raiser to get the bells ringing again. And dog trainer John Halstad prepares his dog Wren for a Dales trial.

Episode 2
In the Dales, John Dawson of Bleak Bank farm leaves his son William in charge on a trip away. William gets baling during a break in the weather. In the Lake District, GP Stuart Allen attempts a fifty-mile ultra-run that stretches the entire length of The Lakes. And back in the Dales, geologist John Helm is on a mission to ensure members of the public can safely descend into Gaping Gill, one of the biggest and most spectacular underground caves in Britain.

Episode 3
At England's last remaining slate mine in Honister, owner Joe Weir is running out of time to fulfil an order of Westmorland Green slate. At Bleak Bank Farm in the Dales, John and William Dawson need to bring their cows in for winter. But one-tonne Billy the bull needs some coaxing. In the Lakes, wild swimmer Suzanna Cruickshank braves the chilly depths of Buttermere. And in Cumbria, health visitor Fiona Dodd is on the road, helping families across a two hundred square mile area of remote countryside.

Episode 4
When his sheep break out into a neighbouring farm, hill farmer and award-winning sheep breeder Arnold Lancaster needs to rebuild a dry stone wall. Rector Sarah Lunn is on a mission in and around Appleby-in-Westmorland, as she works hard to keep traditions alive and communities bonded across her twelve parishes. In Kirkby Stephen, pensioner Hazel Champion readies herself for the weekly trip to Hawes, so she can stock up on provisions and catch up with her family. And in Upper Wharfdale, Dave Younger and 11-year-old son Giuseppe join the rest of the Two Dales Metal Detecting club, as the hills are alive with the sound of beeping when rare finds are unearthed.

Episode 5
Near Windermere, upland farmers Pete and Rona Webster are expecting their first child as they prepare to move to the Dales and take over Rona's dad's farm as he retires. They plan to become the first producers of sheep's milk ice-cream in Yorkshire. Game dealer Andrew Dent and gamekeeper Ian Sleightholm are setting heather ablaze in Wensleydale. In the market town of Leyburn, in Lower Wensleydale, antiques dealer Ken Garrett looks to drum up some business. And in Borrowdale, a team of National Trust rangers need to shift thirty tonnes of stone from the valley floor to the summit of Sty Head.

Episode 6
A train fireman prepares for one of the UK's most scenic railway journeys, from Settle to Carlisle. And a Lakes whisky-maker hopes to distil the region's first single malt.

Episode 7
As winter descends, farmers and their milk are stranded by the snow. A sheep gets stuck in the mud and a slate mine becomes an impromptu ski resort.

Episode 8
The villagers of Carlton-in-Coverdale prepare for the Tour de Yorkshire. Farmers Pete and Rona milk sheep to make ice cream. And GP Stuart climbs Napes Needle.

Episode 9
Craftsman Pete repairs an industrial relic. Ranger Nathan Fox prepares for the arrival of a pair of ospreys. And Marina begins her new career as a professional angler.
