Episode 2

In the second episode of the new series Davina meets Stephen, aged 45 from Cheltenham. Stephen grew up knowing he had a half-sister called Rosemary who his mother gave up for adoption after falling pregnant when she was very young. Stephen's mum never looked for Rosemary as she didn't want to intrude on her new life. She died five years ago and Stephen found a book of poems she had written including one about Rosemary and what it had meant to give her up. By this time next year, Stephen wants to track down his long-lost sister. Grandmother Denise pledged to Davina that she wanted to learn to read. Denise struggled with dyslexia throughout school but wasn't diagnosed until she was 21 and by that age was too embarrassed to do anything about it. Denise explains how being illiterate controls her daily life and that she is determined to return to education and finally learn to read. Most of all, she wants to be able to read her two grandsons a bedtime story for the very first time. Zoe, aged 40, from Coventry, was a size eight until she had her first son. After that her weight increased and she was 16 stone at her heaviest. After her marriage broke down Zoe was determined to get healthy and has already lost five stone. However she isn't happy with how she looks and plans to have her excess skin removed. She has also pledged to take her fitness to the next level and wants to take to the stage This Time Next Year as a fully fledged bodybuilding fitness champion!This Time Next Year Ben wants to have the confidence to pop the question. Ben, aged 31, from Colchester, has lost all his confidence due to the sudden onset of alopecia, as well as gaining four stone. Over the next year he pledges to have a total makeover; to lose weight, get micropigmentation on his scalp and improve his teeth so he feels like his old self again. Ben's partner of five years Justine has been his total rock throughout and he wants to have the confidence to ask her to be his wife.
