Edward points out to Douglas that he and Trevor were spared from becoming scrap-metal and that help of another engine is needed. Douglas, who narrowly escaped the fate himself, is inspired that night to rescue Oliver, a Great Western engine and a brake van named Toad whom are stranded at the scrapyards.
