I tillegg til den berømte staven satte polstreik og Rubiks kube sitt preg på 1982. Rubiks kube ble lansert internasjonalt i 1980, og de to neste årene tok det helt av. I 1982 var interessen på topp her hjemme – ”alle” hadde et eksemplar, selv om nok de færreste klarte å løse den… På begynnelsen av 80-tallet var Tramteatret blant landets fremste frie teatergrupper. Truppen nådde et stort publikum gjennom fjernsynsserier for ungdom. Anders Rogg var et av de sentrale medlemmene. Før 1982 var ulovlige radiosendinger det eneste alternativet til NRKs monopol. Dette året ble det åpnet for lokale fjernsyns- og radiosendinger, og konsesjonssøknadene strømmet inn. Jens Brun-Pedersen var direktør i Radio Oslo, og en av pionerene i den norske nærradioen. I tillegg møter vi Per Kristian Indrehus, vokalist i Drama, som var pop-helter her hjemme på 80-tallet.
