Lincoln's Killer on the Run

Brian Unger and a handful of locals travel back to Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia, at the end of the Civil War, to follow the escape route of Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth. The group meets in the alley behind Ford's Theater. It transforms in front of our eyes to 1865 when Booth made his daring escape after shooting president Lincoln. Then, the arduous journey of Booth begins as we follow him and co-conspirator David Herold, as they flee on horseback from federal officers. Next the cast travels to Maryland, where Booth and Herold hide out at the home of Confederate sympathizer Samuel Cox, and then, to the actual pine thicket that the duo hid in for a week after a nervous Cox asks them to leave.
