Even as Central Texas is still reeling from the devastating floods in early July, the region is now facing another round of flash flooding with a river in Lampasas County reaching over 33 feet in a matter of hours. Meanwhile, new questions are being raised about what more could have been done to warn those in the flood zone. NBC's Morgan Chesky reports for TODAY. Two raging fires have forced hundreds of evacuations at Grand Canyon National Park with some 50 to 80 structures being destroyed including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. Gusty winds and triple digit temperatures are making containment difficult, and the region will remain under a heat warning through Wednesday. Authorities say two women were killed at a Lexington, Kentucky, church in part of a shooting spree that began near a local airport. The suspect was shot and killed by responding officers and police say that preliminary information indicates that the suspect may have had a connection to the individuals at the church. President Donald Trump is threatening to hit the European Union and Mexico with new 30% percent import taxes that will take effect Aug. 1, and he says he'll raise them even higher if any of the countries retaliate, something European leaders are now considering. At a conservative conference over the weekend, the fury from the President's base was on full display with calls to fire Attorney General Pam Bondi over the results of the investigation.
