While wild-caught fish shipments have remained steady for the last 30 years, the quantity of farmed marine food has grown seven-fold. However, there is a big rival to Japanese ambitions in the field. Norway holds a dominant position in the world market when it comes to salmon and is looking to other species through collaborative efforts between private firms and the government.
