Geister der Vergangenheit
When a grave is opened in the cemetery, strange body parts wrapped in cellophane are found. Police chief Danzberger suspects that these belong to Edwin Schönborn, the missing son of the powerful hotel manager Johanna Schönborn, who disappeared two years ago. Danzberger begins the investigation with the help of BKA officer Birgit Wallner. Undertaker Blum and her colleague friend Reza Shadid are the first to be questioned about the macabre find.

Hölle auf Erden
Blum and Reza are interrogated by BKA investigator Wallner. While Reza is soon allowed to leave the police station, Blum ends up in the detention cell. Lawyer Wagenschaub bursts into the interrogation room and gives Blum terrible news: her daughter Nela has been kidnapped. Blum only has 72 hours to free her from the clutches of unscrupulous criminals. In return, she is to reveal where a video with explosive content is located. However, Blum has no idea which video it is.

Du wirst brennen
Blum takes a data stick from the murdered lawyer Wagenschaub and checks his cell phone. She hopes that this will lead to a lead on her daughter's kidnappers. Meanwhile, Sebastian Hackspiel is following reports on the Internet about the discovery of the body parts in the cemetery. He visits hotel manager Johanna Schönborn and warns her that the past is now catching up with her. Schönborn then surprisingly gives Blum a tip about Badal Sarkissian's import/export company YAR.

Falsches Geständnis
BKA investigator Wallner is determined to catch Blum. Danzberger thinks the effort is excessive. With Reza, they have a suspect at the police station who confessed to the murder of Edwin Schönborn. Meanwhile, Blum follows the trail to the unscrupulous businessman Badal Sarkissian. Sebastian Hackspiel is also spying on him and his sister Tamar. Meanwhile, Wallner arranges for a search of Sarkissian's house.

Auge um Auge
Blum's meeting with Sarkissian, where she wanted to swap his sister Tamar for Nela, goes wrong. Sebastian Hackspiel is killed. Police chief Danzberger informs Johanna Schönborn that Hackspiel was found dead in the forest and finally wants to know who is behind the murders. Schönborn, as always, is keeping quiet. Wallner has since been taken off the case. For Blum, she is the last hope of finding out Nela's whereabouts.

Tag der Abrechnung
In the confiscated documents, Wallner comes across a purchase contract for an old property that Sarkissian bought for the state governor candidate Richard Lange. For Blum, a race against time begins. If her daughter Nela is being held there, it is the last chance to save her from certain death. While Wallner sets off with Sarkissian in the car, Blum races to the secluded, dilapidated villa on her motorcycle.
